Yogyakarta, commonly called Jogja, is a city as well as the capital of the Special Region of Jogjakarta (DIY) located in the southern part of Java Island. Batik Jogjakarta is a typical type of Batik that comes from the Jogjkarta area, Indonesia. Its distinctive feature lies in its motif and colouring which is rich in philosophical and historical value. Batik Jogjakarta generally uses colour such as black, white and brown, as well as motifs that describe nature and life with a deep philosophy.
Stamp is a type of Batik whose manufacturing process uses canting cap, which is stamp-like tool made of cooper that carved with Batik motif, to stamp patterns on fabric. This technique is different from drawn Batik which is made manually by hand. This tool is dipped to hot wax, then stamped on white fabric. This process is repeated for all parts of the clothes that wants to give motif.
